Aaron’s Our Man In Central Park
Aaron Dougan, Secretary and Director of the CISS has been appointed a Director of Cowdenbeath Football Club. He will represent the interests of the fans and especially members of the CISS on the main board of the club. The club has offered the CISS two positions on the board of CFC following the initial investment by, and transfer of 10% of the shares in the club to, the CISS.
Aaron said “It is an honour to be chosen by the CISS Board to be appointed to the main board of a club that I passionately love and cherish. I will strive to represent and assert the views of the members of the CISS at CFC Board level. Still being local to Cowdenbeath I feel that I do understand the community we seek to engage with and can employ this understanding to aid the club in its desire to become more of a community club. I am also keen to push the club to improve its social media and communications department which will benefit both the club and the CISS.”
Steve Ferguson, Chairman of the CISS Board, commented “We are delighted that Aaron has stepped up and agreed to be appointed as the first CISS representative on the CFC Board. Aaron’s appointment is a major development in the evolution of the running of the club. The CISS is now the second largest shareholder in CFC and members will now be able have a say in how the club is governed and help shape its direction of travel back to the SPFL.
We also actively seek a person to take up the second position on offer. It would ideally suit somebody who has a commercial, marketing or footballing background, perhaps recently retired, who can commit time and energy to taking the club forward into the future and further strengthen the influence and presence of the CISS on the CFC Board. If anyone is interested, or knows of anyone suitable who might be interested, please contact us at info@cowdenbeathiss.com.”
